The Rhodesian Ridgeback Welfare Trust was formed in 1994 to relieve the suffering and distress of Rhodesian Ridgebacks who are in need, and to provide re-homing if necessary. The Welfare Trust is entirely dependent on the generosity of you, our supporters and donors, to fund our activities,

if you can,  please make a donation to help us

To fulfill our mission to find new homes for pure-bred Ridgebacks that are unable to remain with their current owners, the Trust provide kennels or sanctuaries for the reception and care of rescued Rhodesian Ridgebacks, together with veterinary care and welfare support if required.

Over the years the Welfare Trust has developed procedures which, with careful home-checking and dog assessment, aim to place each individual dog in an appropriate caring home for the rest of their life. The Trust is supported by volunteers throughout the country who assess dogs, check homes, help with transport, emergency kenneling  or fostering

A huge THANK YOU from all of us to the many people, and Ridgebacks, that attended the

Rhodesian Ridgeback Welfare Trust  -  Rosehill Jamboree here at Rosehill Farm yesterday, 2 Sept.

Now an event that includes the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Great Britain it created an interesting and involving mix of activity that clearly found favour with all those who atttend by combining the social elements of the showing world with the real need to ensure that the welfare of the Ridgeback breed is protected.

It was a unique opportunity to meet Ridgebacks, their owners & enthusiasts in a relaxed atmosphere. It was really good to see that so many of the Ridgebacks that have passed through rescue were able to bring their humans along to show how well they had cared for them (on a personal note, there were some adopters that despite my best efforts I never managed to talk to, sorry for that it wasn't intentional)

Also nice to see was that some attendees were with us to research the breed as part of their plans to add either a puppy or rescue to their family. The mostly, (well they are Ridgebacks) impeccable behaviour of the attending Ridgebacks went a long way to further enhance the reputation of Ridgebacks, so well done everyone
