Could you provide a caring home for an older Ridgeback?

The Trust always has a substantial waiting list of people wanting to offer a rescued ridgeback a loving new home.

However, many initially want to re-home puppies or very young dogs, whereas the average age of a ridgeback coming into rescue is over 4 years. Puppies coming in to rescue are very rare as the accredited breeders will automatically take back their puppies if things go wrong.

We are always in need of experienced owners for the older dogs and welcome enquiries from anyone who has the compassion, time, energy and desire to help these wonderful dogs through their difficulties and achieve the new life they deserve.

The Trust takes great care to ensure that our dogs are placed within suitable homes, so we cannot guarantee that everyone who contacts us will be given the opportunity to adopt a dog, but we can guarantee that if you are given the opportunity, it will be because we think you are the perfect match for them.

The Trust has a special fund, made possible by a donation made to the Trust by one very special Ridgeback owner, dedicated to the palliative care, of those older dogs that need veterinary care associated with their condition, that can contribute to the costs incurred by the adopters.
